Teaching at my local college gives me the pleasure of staying current and in touch with the younger versions of ourselves.
Remember saying, “When I grow up, I want to make a difference in this world?”
I take that as, “I want to mean something to others and to myself.”
In that sense, I gotta tell you, being a CPA does have its perks.
I love that I get to help individual families with tax and financial matters. I get to serve as their advisor and friend. As time passes, you get to see individuals making strides in life and families getting bigger. With experience, you become even better in your field too. It gives me the feeling of “meaning something” to those I serve and myself.
It’s tax season. Some may think of it as a brutal time, but I think of it as a time of reunions.
